Throughout the first quarter of 2024, FINNS Bali reaffirmed its dedication to creating a more sustainable and socially responsible Bali through various initiatives. This Q1 summary highlights the remarkable strides made in community engagement, environmental conservation, and sustainability education.
Local Community Engagement
Throughout the first quarter, FINNS Bali remained devoted to engaging and uplifting local communities. The SoleFamily Outreach Program saw the club conducting 14 outreach initiatives across Bali, spanning regions like Karangasem, Ubud, Gianyar, Singaraja, Denpasar, and Tabanan. In a heartwarming display of compassion, a special event on March 25th welcomed 36 SoleBuddies (SoleFamily patients) to enjoy a day of fun at FINNS Recreation Club’s Splash Water Park.
The ESG department also hosted monthly “Kids Fun Day” events, spreading joy and creating lasting memories for 56 children from local orphanages and foundations. Participants from Panti Asuhan Tunas Bangsa, Yayasan Kemala Bhayangkari (SLB C), and SoleFamily experienced the magic of FINNS Recreation Club, fostering a sense of community and inclusivity.
FINNS Go Green
Embracing the principles of a circular economy, FINNS Bali collaborated with ChopValue, a social enterprise that repurposes chopsticks into sustainable products. Over the past three months, this partnership diverted an impressive 24.5 kg of chopstick waste from landfills, championing environmental conservation efforts.
Furthermore, with the help of 186 dedicated participants, FINNS Bali collected a staggering 270.6 kg of organic waste and 243.46 kg of non-organic waste from Bali’s pristine beaches, preventing these pollutants from contaminating the ocean and preserving the island’s natural beauty.Recognizing the importance of education, the ESG Department launched a comprehensive lesson through FINNS Academy, equipping staff and visitors with knowledge about responsible waste management practices, including source separation and recycling. Moreover, FINNS Bali is constructing a waste sorting facility to further reduce its environmental impact. The ESG team also underwent training sessions at the TPS3R Keliki waste management facility, in collaboration with Merah Putih Hijau, and participated in the Eco-Champion training at Potato Head, enhancing their expertise in sustainable waste management practices. As FINNS Recreation Club continues its journey toward a more sustainable future, its commitment to environmental and social responsibility remains unwavering. Through collaborative efforts and innovative solutions, the club aims to create a lasting positive impact on Bali and inspire others to join the movement for a greener, more inclusive world.
