As part of FINNS Bali’s ongoing commitment to sustainability and community engagement, we’ve been actively working on exciting new projects that help Bali thrive. From supporting underprivileged families to reducing waste and restoring our coastline, here’s a look at what we’ve been up to!
PKP Community Centre: Empowering Women and Children
Since its founding in 2013, the PKP Community Centre has been a beacon of hope for women and children in need. Their mission is to promote gender equality, end domestic violence, and help alleviate poverty through meaningful activities and sustainable social efforts.
PKP provides vital services like shelter, counselling, scholarships for disadvantaged students, healthy food packages, job skills workshops, and even seed funding for small business initiatives. Over the past decade, PKP Community Centre has changed the lives of over 1,000 women, provided safe spaces for 300 children, and supported 5,000 families with food and resources.
To help expand their life-changing impact, PKP Community Centre is raising funds to secure 27 acres of land for new safehouses and facilities. This space will allow them to offer even more shelter, education, and support to women and children in need. You can be a part of this incredible mission by making a donation—every contribution makes a difference in ensuring these vital services can continue.

Community Outreach: Making a Difference Across Bali
This quarter, our SoleFamily Outreach Program sent 10 FINNS Bali staff members to various regions of Bali, including Abiansemal, Buleleng, and Karangasem. Their mission was simple: provide groceries and support to individuals and families facing serious challenges, like disability and mental health issues. The impact was powerful, leaving our team inspired to do even more.
Supporting Hope Children Home Orphanage
In August 2024, a devastating fire destroyed the home of 56 children at Hope Children Home Orphanage in Badung, Bali. Fortunately, no one was injured, but the children were left without a place to live, temporarily staying in tents and with neighbours. In response, we rallied staff and guests to come together and support the rebuilding efforts, ensuring these children could once again have a safe and secure place to call home.
Bringing Smiles to Bali’s Kids
We also welcomed 70 children from local orphanages to a fun-filled day at Cubby House Kids Club and Bounce Trampoline Centre. Seeing the joy on their faces was a reminder of why we’re committed to continuing these experiences that brighten the lives of Bali’s youth. Children from Bala Keselamatan Orphanage, Choe Orphanage, Darul Fallah Orphanage, and Hope Children Home all took part in the activities.
FINNS Go Green: Reducing Waste and Protecting Bali’s Coast
Since launching our waste reduction initiative in April 2024, FINNS Bali has made huge strides in cutting down waste going to landfills. Thanks to our in-house waste sorting facility and a sort-at-the-source policy, we’ve reduced waste sent to landfills by 20% and avoided sending 139,351 kg of waste to landfills.
Our collaboration with ChopValue has also diverted 121 kg of used chopsticks from landfills, transforming them into eco-friendly products like chopping boards and coasters.
Weekly Beach Clean-Ups have seen 133 participants collect 78.2 kg of organic waste and 70.3 kg of non-organic waste from Bali’s beaches. Additionally, to celebrate World Mangrove Day, we planted 300 mangroves to protect Bali’s coastline from erosion.
Furthermore, we’re proud to support Yayasan Bambu Lestari, an organisation focused on water conservation and reforestation by planting bamboo. This initiative not only protects Bali’s waterways but also helps to stabilise soil and preserve ecosystems, ensuring a sustainable future for the island – one bamboo tree at a time.
Saying Goodbye to Single-Use Plastics
FINNS Bali has also committed to phasing out single-use plastics from our venues. This not only helps reduce landfill waste but also aligns with our vision for a cleaner, greener Bali. Learn more about our plastic-free efforts here.
Making a Difference, One Step at a Time
At FINNS Bali, we believe in taking action—both for our planet and for our people. Whether it’s cutting down on waste or supporting families in need, we’re dedicated to building a better Bali. This is just the beginning, and we invite all our members to join us in making a real difference.
Let’s work together to protect Bali’s future!
